Research on Genres: Experimental

I didn't really have an idea as to what genre I was looking into because my storyline is not finalised yet. I think it's going to be a Romantic Mystery but also with elements of thriller and edginess thrown in. I have many ideas, such as maybe making it a short documentary on someone famous, like a kidnapper or making more mystery than thriller. I'm unsure on what I what. So I'm doing some research into short films made by professionals to see what I like best. However an alternative Genre I recently stumbled across was 'experimental'. I've never explored this before so it's interesting to watch some of the work on it.

Some short films of this genre:

I really like this one, in terms of talking but also how the sounds work with the speech. The different clips put so cleverly together shows how it's someone's work of art. This concept I like, as the edginess and individualism of this piece makes it easy to watch.

This again is an interesting piece. I love the use of dull colours and a camera like screen. The storyline is still portrayed but the voiceover is in control.

This Genre is really interesting and I like the look of it. I am an artist myself so expression is key to my work.
